I've been working on this, among other things, pretty intensely the past couple of weeks. It's all rather silly I suppose, but I had a lot of fun with it.
It's actually just background artwork for the flap pages of the volume 1 book collection but I wanted to use that space to say a little something about the characters illustratively.
(The layout in print form will be different - more horizontal than vertical so that it spans two pages.)
It's a combination of pencil art, digital painting and utilizing old photos of my ancestors to create custom texture brushes for the antiquing effects.

I think this is one of the only pictures that depict Atlas with as much as a (half-hearted) smile. I have my own theories about that, but I'm fully open to whatever you come up with him. :)
Also - nice to see a bit of Rocky's circus-life.
