I've been working on this, among other things, pretty intensely the past couple of weeks. It's all rather silly I suppose, but I had a lot of fun with it.
It's actually just background artwork for the flap pages of the volume 1 book collection but I wanted to use that space to say a little something about the characters illustratively. (The layout in print form will be different - more horizontal than vertical so that it spans two pages.) It's a combination of pencil art, digital painting and utilizing old photos of my ancestors to create custom texture brushes for the antiquing effects. The comic this pertains to can be found at the Lackadaisy web site Daily DeviationGiven 2008-05-18*tracyjb's artwork has always been of such wonderful detail, but this piece proves that there's even more detail hidden behind the artwork, with lengthy tales and entire lives lived out within her mind.
