Lackadaisy Cutthroat by tracyjb Lackadaisy Cutthroat by tracyjb
Two new pages. A lot of dialogue this time - hopefully not a tiresome amount. I prefer to adhere more to 'show, don't tell' as a storytelling method, but sometimes I suppose talk is necessary too.
This underwent -a lot- of revising. I'm not thrilled with it still, but there's a certain amount of catharsis involved in finally posting it. I look forward to working on the next few pages.

Characters Asa, Mordecai, Avril, Nico and Serafine (the Savoys)

As a side notes:
'nut zippers' may sound like a painful pants-related issue, but it actually refers to an old-fashioned type of candy.
Thanks to  for naming the character in Asa's terrible joke.

As usual, these pages won't make an iota of sense without the prior pages. You can find them in order in the Archive

The detail and quality of the strip is..*jaw drops*. At first, the Hatchet joke vaugely reminded me of the Noodle Incident in Calvin and Hobbes.

I SWEAR, every time Asa's mouth opens, I'm hearing John Goodman speak in my head. No idea why.

Love your cats by the way. So cute and expressive!

Well i thought it was quite good, especially the last line of clips. & i fee for you with the too much dialogue thing. Writing comics can get hard, especially when there's a storyline.

I don't know if I can really say anything except that I read through the entire story so far in the past two days and loved it to pieces.

And funny thing, my mom found some of those "Squirrel Nut Zippers" the other day and brought them home for me to try. I like them a lot - you're missing out, Mordecai.

If and when this is compiled into a book, I want it.
I spectacular effort, complex characters, deep, well written dialogue. As an Australian, most of what I say is abbreviated, so, I love people who exercise their vocabulary..

I'm afraid I'm starting to take these for granted. They're all great. Some nice scenes, and it moves the plot along for a meeting of the good guys and baddies.

My sister's candy store sells "squirrel nut zippers" as they say on the label. Also Mary Janes (the old candy type!) which taste like sawdust.
squirrel nut zippers are pretty tasty though.
