A couple more samples of characters I've worked on for Hero's Journey. These are realtime game engine renders of a creature called a targust and a human female we used for our E3 display art this past year. Yes, I know that the bare midriff amidst all the armor is anything but logical. If it were up to me, she'd be much more practical, but they don't always let me have my way when it comes to costume design.
Both were modeled and animated in 3DS Max. Textures were created in photoshop.
Another interesting creature.. looks like a hybrid of several dinosaurs, like triceratops, stegosaur and perhaps a bit of allosaur too. Looking great. The girl looks good too, but i'm also a bit tired of the chainmail bikini fashion trend..
Yes, I agree, interesting choice of the LACK of armour for the lady there, but boys will be boys. I love the dinosaur thingy in the back there! Too cool!
Well, there's always the anime law of armor. The less they have, the better it protects.

Very nice. She does look a bit of a poser. I've always wondered why fantasy armour has 'gaps' - perhaps that's why it's fantasy! Nice hairpiece though - oh and the targust is fab!
