I work for a game company (play.net), and a major part of my role there is creature and character design, modeling and animation. I've recently got the go-ahead to display some of this stuff, so here are some samples of the work I've been doing for our upcoming MMORPG, Hero's Journey.
These two are the ilorax and gorrog -- a pair of sinewy demon-like monsters. The bluish inverted pencil drawings are the original concept sketches for the creatures, and I threw in a wireframe render of the ilorax too. They were both modeled and animated in 3D Studio Max. Textures were created in Photoshop.
Wow this is impressive. Creating low poly models for 3d applications isn't easy since there's so much requirements to meet (make it usable by the programmers, low enough textures to look good but not kill the renderer etc).
I see you did a fantastic job! My hats off!

It's nice to see what you've been working with.. very nice creature concepts and they seem to be coming out great in the actual game too! Have you also done all the animation yourself? It's a lot of work.. I've only worked with 3DS on static objects (buildings) but it's complicated as hell already then..
Anyway, I really like this look, how they're made of bones and sinew.. Gives them a truly scary and ..uhhmm.. i suppose undead appearance. I mean, these things don't look like living creatures, but more like rotting corpses.. still, they look more than capabable of dealing death! Very scary indeed!
WOW! These things are so awesome! I didn't know you were a game designer, too! These are excellemt, very realistic & detailed. They'd be awesome enimies in a game, pretty scary! I like the skullish one on the bottom the best, but I also really liked the creature in the other deviation, too, that was on the same page as the armoured woman. ^_^ Most excellent, I'd definitally play the game.
